Does anybody know of a source for the polka dot-style engineer's hats? I was told they are sold at many live steam tractor meets but does anyone have a supplier link off the web? Thanks!

While railroaders don't wear them much anymore, welders do (under their hoods) and the spotted caps can often be found at welding supply stores. Otherwise, they're available by mail. Kromer has since sold the winter cap line to a company in Michigan, but the rest of their products remain one of the very few pieces of clothing that are union made in the USA rather than the slave labor markets of the third world.

Bob, I have to agree with your post 100%. I have used the red polka dot hat since my days as a volunteer with the High Iron Company. It is too bad that many stores do not carry them anymore because they are more expensive than the import hats. I am also pleased to buy them to support Americans working in America!! The current trends in this country are sickening. No one in office seems concerned about the loss of jobs in THIS country. It now called an international economy.....

The Schrader's catalog showed up in today's mail. They have them on page 53, item 34142, in various sizes, for $7.95. Phone is 1-800-842-4828. I haven't done business with these folks, but check them out. They say they've been in business since 1978.
