Note that some of the photos are recent, with a couple of guys poking around on a ladder. Was anything found?

I doubt they found anything. Even though it looks like they got past the bricked up portion, the collapse was a complete one. The only way to get to the train would be by using heavy machinery. When they began to dig it out originally there was a threat of further collapse of the hill above so they just filled it back in encasing everything.

If these are the photos that I saw before, they were taken by a couple of locals who wanted to see the conditions in the tunnel themselves. They were able to make it a short ways into the bore before encountering the collapsed portion. Basically, they found that there was nothing in the accessable areas and decided that they would not attempt go back in the tunnel again due to the unsafe conditions.
