Is the 1702 running again? If not does anyone know if it will make it out of the shop before the leaves are gone?

The 1702 is still in the shop and is not expected to run this year.

The 1702 will most likely not make it back into revenue service this year. The drive wheels, 4 new drive axles, and 8 new driving boxes have been assembled and the frame/boiler set back where it belongs. The GSMR has decided not to rush it back into service, but take the time to make sure that it is ready for a full 2004 season. Before it steams again, it will have undergone a near complete running gear overhaul.

Has anybody seen the new paint scheme on the two GP9's that joinded the GSMR roster earlier this year?

Ryan,
I have, and I like the old scheme better. Perhaps I'm just a perfectionist and liked having all the diesels in matching paint.

I believe the 711 and 777 will recieve a like paint job to the 1751 and 1755 in the not so distant future! The 1751 and 1755 are a bit better for visability at crossings.
