Nice shot ... the same private owner has an H-16-66 (Baby Trainmaster, ex Squaw Creek Coal) that heÂ’s painted up as a fictional CPR 7009, last in a number series reserved for diesel demonstrators on the railway. It too looks great in tuscan and grey.
BTW, my city Calgary is a hotbed for surviving Fairbanks-Morse designed power. In addition to the two already mentioned, the two remaining C-liner B units (ex British Columbia Railway robot cars) are parked on a siding just south of the city, in DeWinton. TheyÂ’re supposed to eventually be matched to the surviving two As. And a previous thread talked about the last CPR H-16-44 to be restored at a local technical school for display. ThereÂ’s also a small Canadian Locomotive Company (FMÂ’s Canadian licensee) switcher privately owned and restored a few miles south of town.
Of course, Calgary has a few other things going for it: CPÂ’s three operational F units, restored Hudson No. 2816, and nicely done static displays of Selkirk (2-10-4) No. 5931, 4-4-0 No. 29 and No. 7019, the cityÂ’s first diesel (an Alco S-1).
