Canadian National 89 in living color - 1 *PIC*

quite impressive stuff there. I think your pictures along with John Craft's are better than any words I could write, but I think it is safe to say this was probably THE "Time Warp Experience" of 2003 for those of us lucky enough to witness it. Major thanks to John, Jim Gunning and everybody with the Strasburg RR who made this possible.

Now, everybody else, get yourself out to Strasburg to at least see the 89 in proper livery for once!

A few other SRC folks also had a hand to play in 89's cosmetic rebirth--Dave Hoffman and Estes Proudfoot did the front end headlight bracket fabrication and installation, number wedge installation, headlight, etc. Ross Gochenaur did a magnificant job with hand-painting the CNR crooked square herald on the tender and the cab lettering--he has the perfect artistic touch!

Also, John Craft mentioned the 1955 photo of 89. That image is actually from the files of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, which I found in our CNR photo file and sent a photocopy over to Linn for reference.

The PRR steel hopper used on the train was not given by the RRMPA to SRC. If I recall correctly, it was donated by the PRRT&HS to the Strasburg RR in the late 1990s. Perhaps Linn could weigh in with more details.
