After reading the brief about RR Museum of PA, I looked over the entire list of IMLS 2003 Learning Opportunities Grants. There actually are two grants to railway museums. These are:

Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania - Strasburg, PA - $58,313

South Coast Railroad Museum - Goleta, CA - $19,868

The South Coast Railroad Museum is in the relocated SP Goleta depot. This is a classic SP two-story wooden depot. This depot, near Santa Barbara, has one caboose on the track next to the depot. It also has a full-time director and a very deligent effort to obtain grant funding.
