this is a great little operation. The "big train" is big enough for adults to ride in behind live steam. Also there is next store, The Bay Area Live Steamers, with their 7.5" gauge models. Some beautiful work there! And also in the Park is an antique Carousel to ride and enjoy. They keep the paint in good order. Ted Miles, San Francisco, CA ted_miles@nps.gov |

Some great Sunday afternoons were spent by the Lewis family in Tilden Park during the four years (1977-81) that I was doing graduate work at UC Berkeley. It is my understanding that the route of the Tilden Park Train (Redwood Valley Railway) has been altered and lengthened since then. And I agree with Ted Miles that the historic carousel is a "must-see" if you are in the Park. sc 'doc' lewis Redwood Valley Railway utweyesguy@aol.com |
