This site is a one man labor of love, and Mr. Madden is to be commended. When done it will essencially put all the information contained in the Pullman Company Car Construction Cards and Car Shopping Records currently in the Newberry Library collection on the web in a searchable form. In order to have access to the information for study, Tom financed the micro-filming of all these records, so now duplicate sets are available to other museum libraries for purchase; I believe the California State Railroad Museum is in line to get a set. The web site will make searching for information a breeze, and the micro-films will make the information verifyable.

I will certainly echo that!
In about two hours Tom was able to pin down the identity of my much abused ex-tourist pullman to two cars sold to the NKP in 1947. He also forwarded instructions on where to find the pullman lot number to make the identification complete...pretty slick!
