At Pensacola, Florida in 2000. Looks pretty good here. Does it have asbestos lagging or was it removed like many other Frisco display locos? http://www.morscher.com/rr/2000/20000213_02.jpg ryarger@rypn.org |

It is a 2-8-2, rebuilt from a 2-8-0 in 1945 at Frisco's Springfield, Mo. shops. One of three like this extant. http://www.morscher.com/rr/2000/20000413_02.jpg ryarger@rypn.org |

The three saved were 1351 to Memphis, 1352 to Kansas City and 1355 to Pensacola. The 1351 was moved out of the park and is now displayed in a town near Memphis that I can't remember the name of. The 1352 was also moved out of Swope Park in KC after coming near scrapping when a child fell off it and it was declared a safety hazard. It was later bought and moved to Illinois, part of a failed running restoration attempt. The 1355 hasn't been moved since donation to my knowledge. ryarger@rypn.org |
