Hi guys,

Just got word that Norfolk Southern is borrowing two of the Morristown & Erie's FL-9's today for the NS's Dover-Washington, NJ frieght. Get out there if it's not too late!

According to some Yahoo lists, the FL-9's stayed in Dover and are working east on NS local HO-2 today (Friday).

And who says the preservation era doesn't support interesting revenue runs? Do you think the boys at EMD imagined their dual-power beasts would end up running local freights 40+ years later on the Lackawanna... which would be owned by something called Norfolk Southern (that wasn't a regional in NC)?

The reason behind all this is that NS is short of cab signaled power in NJ this week.

Hmmm... if they need some units, there's an $800,000 2-6-0 we could drop signaling into...

Too bad its not a coal burner, and probably belongs out west..

I can think of a couple places here in the East that could use a(n extra) small steamer in operating condition.
