That whole reconstruction is simply fantastic!
One of the nice things about two footers is that you can stand on the end platform and really get your arms around them.

Having ridden the car, I think it is a great addition to the Railway. The kids love.

The plans were found in the Maine Historical Society collection of the Portland Company. The Portland Company spent over a century building anything that involved wood and iron. Two of their steam Locomotives still exist including the
WW&F 9 at the WW&F Museum.

I am told the book on the Portland Company is first rate.

A few miles northerly, the SR&RL group built a replica in 1988-89 and numbered it 559, next in the series.
