This caboose was up for sale (briefly) on Ebay; the Ebay item number is no longer valid, but it can be found on Railswap.
No idea about the previous owner, etc.

The caboose in Cochrane, Georgia was offered twice on eBay but neither seller really had the right to offer it on eBay. It was auctioned twice by www.liquidations.com but apparently the high bidder on each auction didn't come through with the funds because it is now being offered by www.bid4assets.com on behalf of the State of Georgia.

I want to thank Andrew for making me aware of the latest auction of this caboose. I've been notified by bid4assets that I won the auction. It is my intention to move the caboose to the South Carolina Railroad Museum. Not having examined the caboose before bidding on it may not have been the most intelligent thing to do.
