Altamont Press news noting new DM&IR owner CN plans to close the Proctor shops. This facility includes the large roundhouse and attached newer diesel shop. Knowing CN, they'll probably demolish it unless someone comes up with a plan to save and utilize it.

We might turn out pretty lucky on this one Bob. From the talk going on in the OreRail List (with many DMIR insiders) it seems the city of Procter wants to save the shops and convert into some kind of redevelopment project that'll save some of the jobs once employed by DMIR.

No word on firm plans, it might or might invlolve adaptive re-use, but the town seems t be working on it. Ihope this dosn't end up like the Twin Harbors shops.
