Plans for the tiny standard gauge Porter 0-4-0T at the Sharlot Hall Museum in Prescott, Arizona. There was an attempt to steam this loco in the 1980s, which the AZ boiler inspector reportedly disapproved of.

I visited Sharlot Hall Museum a couple weeks ago; my cursory inspection of the loco (plinthed outside in the parking lot, but this IS desert-dry Arizona) revealed hardly enough there to even fantasize the notion. There are plans afoot for an expansion of the exhibit halls which would, among other things, put this loco and the many mining artifacts (rock crushers, steam engines and pumps, etc.) surrounding the parking lot under cover. If someone gives me a temporary place to host a photo, I'll send them a digital photo of the loco today.

I'd be grateful for a more recent image than the one displayed at the link below.

Also, did you have to take any pictures of the other steam engines and pumps? I would be interested in them as well.

(I already have a picture of the Sharlot Hall Porter on Surviving World Steam CD-ROM; but I need to check to see how old it is.)

I e-mailed a couple photos to Stephen Hussar to be posted later today; check your mailbox in a while.

Unfortunately, I did NOT get good photos of the other equipment there, but I can dispatch someone to do it someday.
