.......how things would have been different if Nelson Blount would have lived. I have pics from Bellows falls from approx 1979 or so, and they are sadly similar. Loads of locos lined around the turntable (I seem to remember more than a few foreign engines), and no weather-protection to be seen.

What ever happened to the various non-RR steam equipment that was stored in VT?

There were several auctions at the Steamtown Foundation before the NPS came on the scene.

the non-railroad steam, road rollers and such, were the first things to go.

At least one engine, British Southern Railway, I think, went back over to the UK. I think an Irish engine too.

It is too bad that that the NPS did not have any interest in the "other" steam stuff that Blount had collected.

More recently, a year or two ago I read an announcement that Canadian Pacific 2626 (2727?)
was headed back to Canada. Has anyone seen it lately? Further news?

Hello Ted

Its actually the 2929, but who's counting... Last I heard the deal to re-patriate the engine had been called off for reasons I'm not aware of. There are several cars including a wooden coach, SJ&LC caboose (both on flats), CNJ coach and MILW F Unit due to leave the NPS in the near future.

*I'm not Dave, and I don't even play him on TV, but I do know a principal trying to get the MILW FP7 and other items; he told me yesterday that they are "frantically" trying to get them off the property in the next few hours lest Steamtown follows through with their pledge to scrap said pieces. If the current proposal I heard about goes through, the piece(s) will be retrieved from NPS tracks by the Delaware-Lackawanna RR pending relocation to other locations (a locomotive dealer in the area has been mentioned). The FP7, at least, has a proposed destination; it's a good guess whether it'll ever make it there (even the principal admits it's a case of "grab now, figure out what the &%$# we got ourselves into later").
