I wonder if this interesting idea is a bit optomistic. When I last checked, the portion of the line north of the Ossipee pit and south of the Conway Scenic was abandoned, but not owned by the State. This means it's still in Guilford ownership. I've also heard that over the years, portions have been sold to private owners. Does anyone have more encouraging facts? davidwoodbury@adelphia.net |

The State of new hampshire now owns the remaining portion of this rail line, but you are correct that there are a couple of places where the rail has been removed and the land was built on.I'm not sure how they did this legally...
