Post subject: 1893 wheel set for trade
PostPosted: Fri Nov 21, 2003 3:16 pm

Last fall, Union Pacific excavated a largely intact wheel set from the Gasconade River in Missouri. The foundry date is 1893 from the St. Louis Wheel Car Co. Since it spent 100 years submerged, many of the wooden components are still intact. Union Pacific has decided not to keep this wheel set for our own museum, but we are interested in trading for smaller three dimensional artifacts relating to the history of Union Pacific and its constituent railroads. Please contact me at 402-271-4749 or brendamainwaring@up.com if you are interested.
