Post subject: Last Call for Strasburg RR History Exhibit

Just a reminder: for those of you who have been procrastinating, the History of the Strasburg RR exhibit at the RR Museum of PA will be closing December 7. Now's the time to see it before it is gone forever.

Our next fine arts exhibit on historic photography at the railroad world's fairs, will be opening December 13.

Any chance that this material might make the internet, for those of us who couldn't make it down to see it? Especially the Strasburg's pre-tourist history?

I wish I could say yes, but our resources are very limited. Some of the images were posted on our webpage earlier this year at rrmuseumpa.org but I'm not sure if they are still available.

I stopped by during the Trains and Troops weekend and I must say that it truly was a great exhibit. It was nice to be able to take a look at Strasburg from the original short line to the prosperous tourist mecca it is today. I have one question that you may be able to answer. How long did 90 actually operate in full Great Western paint?

Thanks for your kind comments, Kevin. According my sources, No. 90 was in GW paint for only 2 weeks in May 1967 then got the SRC treatment. The photo on exhibit was taken on 90's third day of operation on SRC.
