Go Lions---were close to setting the road record for most loses! (When your team last had a championship when the '57 Chevy was new, your expectations fall significantly....) And as we all head home for the feast, we should remember those for whom tomorrow won't be a day to put up their feet and indulge in turkey, football and/or the new trains unlimited DVD. Those in the service in whatever part of the world they are, medical people attending to sickness (which unfortunately knows no holiday) and the Mrs./Mom/Grandmom etc- who gets up early with "the bird". Thank you Seth for starting this thread. My best wishes to one and all here at RYPN. I start every internet session with a visit to this site, have had countless hours of pleasure reading it as well as learning what's going on in the preservation world, good and bad. May we all enjoy turkey with our families today and give thanks for all the history we HAVE managed to save. And may Georgia beat Georgia Tech! kevin.r.gillespie@verizon.net |

Even though I am at working on Thanksgiving day (see what you get with even 32 years seniority on the railroad!!), I am extremely thankful for my wonderful family, friends and to God for allowing me to live in a country where we can enjoy diverse interests such as railway preservation. It is fun to debate the merits of restoration or operation of this or that locomotive or car, and sometimes the conversation gets a little heated, but I think we can all appreciate the freedom that we enjoy to pursue our passion. Thanks to everyone who shares our dedication to preserving the past and I would like to particularly thank my good friends and working partners on the Milwaukee Road #261 crew. May your turkey be moist and the whipped cream on your pumpkin pie be plentiful. Don C. milw261@sbcglobal.net |
