Can anyone tell me what's left of the Reading RR engine facilities at Gordon, PA? In the late 1950s, I believe there was a fairly new diesel house that also served the T-1 4-8-4s, plus a very old stone roundhouse, with an old wooden coach parked where the turntable used to be. What's left there today?
The only structure that I have confirmed with my own eyes at Gordon is the stone base of the old watertower slightly north of the yard. The yard is on private property and I haven't gone out there to see whats left.
I live about 10 minutes away from Gordon, but I'm currently in Rochester NY at college.
The enginehouse itself is also still there, now used by a wood-treating company, Universal Forest Products. It is/was actually a fairly typical Reading enginehouse, being quite similar to the one at Shamokin. Both were built in the '20's, I believe.
