Good stuff!

Just wondering, however, just who built the non-fitting boiler for the GLENBROOKE? Seems to me if a contractor made the wrong thing that they shold be responsible for fixing the problem

Especially on these smaller engines with tighter clearances, the fit is real critical, and allowances must be made for those places where the boiler sheets lap over each other, ect. Maybe somebody should get back to riviting as a practice.

The locomotive Glenbrook (No1)was built for the Carson & Tahoe Lumber and Fluming Company during 1875. Later along with rail and other railroad material was moved north to help create the Lake Tahoe Railway & Transportation Company.

It is a narrow gauge locomotive and never saw service on the V&T.

As far as why the boiler that was ordered for the Glenbrook didn't fit, well I'm leaving that can of worms unopened. After all it happened more than twenty years ago.
