Off the top of my head, Grand Canyon, Strasburg, D&S, Ohio Central, Valley, White Pass, Georgetown Loop, Huckleberry, Disney, Tweetsie, Knott's Berry Farm. Whether any of these are hiring is another question. There are also the steam consulting operations, but many are one-man bands: Diversified Rail Services, Steam Operations Corporation among others. eledbetter@rypn.org |

To add to the list, I know at least one steam RR in the Northeast hired a Polish immigrant boilermaker and rail enthusiast, fresh off the boat, a few years back, at below-going-market rates, to work basically full-time and single-handedly on their ongoing locomotive repair for a year or so. That was something of an unusual circumstance, not likely to be repeated (I think they sponsored his visa/citizenship application). LNER4472-NOSPAM-@bcpl.net |

Another would be the Mount Washington Cog Ralway in New Hampshire. I would imagine some of the larger museums have a few paid employees. mw p_michael_warren@yahoo.com |
