Fine and dandy for explaining "42". Now explain how the "45" started THIS thread.

[all of a sudden I'm thirsty for a North Coast Brewing Co. Old No. 38 Stout, which as we all know was originally named Old No. 45 after the California Western steamer, but North Coast Brewing thought Heileman's lawyers would come after them to defend Colt 45....... Well, I guess I'll make do with their Old Stock Ale 2001.......]
