The Hercules is known in the military as the C-130, not the C-135 which is the military equivalent of the Boeing 707. In any event, your point is well taken about the versatility of an aircraft the first flew in 1954 and is still in production. The C-135 also qualifies as its prototype also first flew in 1954. Of course the Hercules is still in production and the last 707's built were the AWACS delivered to the Royal Air Force in 1991. kevin.r.gillespie@verizon.net |
