Post subject: Santa Rides Conrail Tomorrow in NJ
PostPosted: Fri Dec 12, 2003 12:30 pm

For those near Monmouth and Middlesex Counties, the Conrail Shared Assets employees and the Freehold, NJ PBA will present the 17th annual Santa Train on the former PRR Camden & Amboy and Freehold & Jamesburg lines tomorrow.

This is a stealth event. I hadn't heard about it until 6 months ago and I live in Monmouth County!

Any way, it is a chance to have some fun and see a train on this very historic line.

Rob

PS: Even though the note below says Santa "steams" into town, he really gets his jollies vibrating down the 15 mph track in decorated GP40-2's!

PPS: Also, just two towns away, the Pine Creek is running three-foot guage Santa trains. Hmmm... might have to do both!

Freehold Borough PBA / Conrail Santa Train Event

The Freehold Borough PBA is once again teaming up with Conrail for our annual Santa Train Event. At about noon Santa Claus will steam into town aboard a Conrail locomotive. He will then pose for photos will every child in attendance. Also, every child will receive a gift. The event will take place at the Bus Station (previously a train station) between West Main Street and Broad Street. It is a great event, and all are welcome. For more information, contact Ptl. Christopher Colaner at (732) 462-1233 at the Freehold Boro PD.
