The former Canadian Pacific turntable at Alyth yards in Calgary, Alta., (can’t remember the size, but it was big enough to turn 2-10-4 Selkirks) is no more. Driving past the yards today revealed a big mound of dirt where the pit once was, and the backshop — where a larged roundhouse once stood, and in recent years the regular home of CPR Hudson 2816 — is apparently for sale. Does anyone know where the Hudson (the Empress) will be stored and receive minor repairs now? I'm hoping it's still Calgary ... Story of my life: Saw the Hudson steaming on the turntable this summer. Didn’t get a picture. Sigh. Kevin |

OUCH! That is really too bad, hurts even more because CPR has the 2816 and like you said it was kept there- which I did not know. How many intact CPR roundhouses, with tables, are there now? Joshua |
