All I want for Christmas..and I know I have a better chance of seeing Santa in person for some of these! 1.) To see one of these lost locomotives (The Erie K Pacific), the DL&W Pacific in the Delaware River, etc occasionally discussed here actually be true and recoverable. 2.) To see the R&N obtain or allow an A-A or A-B-A set of F-units (perhaps the LV painted or CNJ painted ones) to be on point with one of their passenger trains heading through Penobscot. 3.) To see the CP 2816 back in Scranton, double-headed with the 2317. 4.) To see Doyle M’s “NKP 190” in Scranton with the NKP 514 and NKP 759 for a night photo. 5.) To have both D-L RS-3’s running and have them get a couple more. 6.) To see a successful reopening of the B&O museum. 7.) To see the Vulcan side-rod diesel @ the former CNJ station in Wilkes Barre Pa find a good home-and perhaps run again! 8.) To see the 26, 3713, and 1361 both running by 7-2005 for the 10th anniversary of the Steamtown grand opening. Of course the 3254 and 2317 should be running too. 9.) That 2004 is better than 2003 with no snowstorms, floods, hurricanes or Tornadoes affecting us! 10.)Finally, but by no means least-to have some relief from the plunder of the trial lawyers-so insurance can stop being the first and primary concern of ever railroad, museum and excursion! Well, once the bridge on the SRNJ is finished in S. Jersey and we can get our B-unit down to the W&W (the cheapest way, avoiding NS and CR Shared Assets) for some wheel work, the ARHS should have a better chance of getting the A-B-A set of CNJ/CRP F3's back together. Of course, we still have to re-wire the control circuit on the F-3B to get it running right...... The 56 & 57 should be able to pull a nice-sized train up the Gorge, though..... > 5.) To have both D-L RS-3Â’s running and have > them get a couple more. The ARHS has leased our Reading RS-3 #467 to the D-L for ten years in return for the mechanical work required to get it running again. It's in the queue, but when it gets done all depends on how much loco work needs to be done on the currently operating units,. > 10.)Finally, but by no means least-to have > some relief from the plunder of the trial > lawyers-so insurance can stop being the > first and primary concern of ever railroad, > museum and excursion! Amen, brother !! Let's follow Shakespeare's advice about trial lawyers.............. Merry Christmas to one and all !! Walter hoffmannwj@nswccd.navy.mil |

Ahhhh, I love a good anthracite region wish list... > 1.) To see one of these lost locomotives > (The Erie K Pacific), the DL&W Pacific > in the Delaware River, etc occasionally > discussed here actually be true and > recoverable. I think you'll have better luck pulling LV hoppers out of the Susquehanna at Port Bowkley. > 2.) Well, if they are in the hunt for F-units with dynamics, I would figure you might get a set in-residence. > 3.) To see the CP 2816 back in Scranton, > double-headed with the 2317. Much discussed. Not sure of #2816's eastern plans, though I do know some steam-heads in Montreal fully expect her there in 2004. Getting closer... > 4.) To see Doyle M’s “NKP 190” in Scranton > with the NKP 514 and NKP 759 for a night > photo. Don't forget NKP 4-6-0 #44 is at Steamtown. Maybe the "City of Lima" will make it as well? > 5.) Well, please put in an exception for southern Vermont where this snowboarder would like some exceptional snowfall! > 10.)Finally, but by no means least-to have > some relief from the plunder of the trial > lawyers-so insurance can stop being the > first and primary concern of ever railroad, > museum and excursion! How about we leave it as "relief from plunder" in the broadest sense? Merry Christmas! Rob rdavis@rypn.org |

To see GTW #6325 powering in to Port Huron, Michigan with ex-CN/ VIA coaches. Heck, make that a life goal! CNNA's supposed "we hate steam" policy be damned. T.J. tjgaffney@phmuseum.org |
