New fundraising method... why didn't we think of it earlier?

A man who chained himself to a short section of railroad track last week said that by Monday he was nearly halfway toward his goal of raising $50,000 for the Virginia & Truckee Railroad reconstruction project.

Kim Fegert said he raised $23,750 after spending 23 hours a day since Dec. 18 chained to a track in front of the Virginia City Jerky Co.

Then there's the flip-side approach:

Take a 'well known' local political individual, volunteer, or advocate, and keep taking donations or you'll let him go again!

I'm not looking for nominations... feel free to substiture your own.
