Good news on the Carnforth station in the UK. I understand, though, that Steamtown Carnforth is no longer open. I believe it is one of only two or three extant roundhouses in the UK and would seem worth preserving and making a part of the station exhibit. Anyone have an update from there?

From the pictures that I have seen of the place, I have only seen a multi-track shed. Not quite sure when it was built. Perhaps the roundhouse is somewhere else on the property?

Couldn't find a photo of the roundhouse yet, but here is one of their coal chute, built by Italian prisoners of war in WWII. Several years ago, I read that the concrete in the coal chute was crumbling and it was not clear if it could be saved. anyone know if it is still standing?
