While most of us real railroaders despise snow and all the headaches and body aches it brings, here is a photo some might enjoy, taken in the early 1960s. Incidently, the snowplow and engine still exist, as well as the enginehouse they were kept in, on the Colorado & Southern's isolated Leadville line. Not sure if the two boxcars or caboose still exist, but am sure suitable replacements could be found. http://photoswest.org/cgi-bin/imager?00007215+OP-7215 ryarger@rypn.org |

Taken at the 7th Street shops of the C&S in Denver, long before the plow was heavily rebuilt. It could be set onto both narrow gauge or standard gauge trucks and was used on both systems of the C&S. http://photoswest.org/cgi-bin/imager?00007209+OP-7209 ryarger@rypn.org |
