Post subject:  Snow train

While most of us real railroaders despise snow and all the headaches and body aches it brings, here is a photo some might enjoy, taken in the early 1960s. Incidently, the snowplow and engine still exist, as well as the enginehouse they were kept in, on the Colorado & Southern's isolated Leadville line. Not sure if the two boxcars or caboose still exist, but am sure suitable replacements could be found.

Taken at the 7th Street shops of the C&S in Denver, long before the plow was heavily rebuilt. It could be set onto both narrow gauge or standard gauge trucks and was used on both systems of the C&S.
