| Post subject: | Trolley Car Model *PIC* |
Recently the Seashore Trolley Museum received the donation of a model trolley car made in 1932 or earlier by Harold Forsyth. One end and one side represent Lynn & Boston St. Rwy. car #112 and the other end and side represent West End St. Rwy. car #196. The scale is 2 3/4 inches to the foot so the model is nearly five feet long. Harold Forsyth was a well-known expert on electric railways and both a collector of and dealer in railway photographs. There was at least one other similar model which was said to have gone to the Smithsonian. Others were rumored to be at other trolley museums. We have made an effort to track down any other such models but the museums mentioned have denied having anything of the sort and the Smithsonian does not reply. Does anyone out there know of any existing Forsyth models? Thanks. RJReich@aol.com |
