| Post subject: | Hocking Valley 33 - Today *PIC* |
12/31/03 Today the cab was removed from ex-LS&I #33. All of the tubes have been taken out. Both thermic syphons and arch tubes have been removed. The knuckle has been cut out of the rear tube sheet. The entire left side sheet is sitting on the floor and the right one is nearing ready to be removed. As you can see a very ambitious project has been undertaken and we are committed to seeing this locomotive return to service exceeding the FRA regulations. We have all intentions of returning the #33 back to her LS&I livery, green paint and all. The restoration is progressing along nicely. I will take some new pictures of the #33 on Friday and post them here. Jerry J. Jacobson and the Ohio Central Railroad are committed to preserving steam for future generations, one locomotive at a time. Happy New Year, Jason www.ocsteam.com ![]() jmjohnson@ohiocentral.com |
