OSIER-LAND Is Open Free Tours

I decided, since I think it is very important to get kids interested in Railroads I should do something about it. I took all the stuff I have used and been saving and put it on one site. Kids Only OSIER-LAND is the name of the link.

Get the kids or the grandkids and check it out. Not to worry we don't check ID'S.

You are to be congratulated on a job well done. This is what is needed by our industry! Today, I spoke with a person who is in her early 20's and is one of our volunteers. She asked me what we were doing because we could not run trains due to the snow we have received. (We had received 16 inches.) I told her that we could run trains if we needed to but that none were on the schedule.
Her grandfather was the Master Mechanic at the Nevada Northern for years, yet she really believed that the snow could keep the trains from running. The point I am trying to make is that all of us need to educate our visitors on the importance of railroads to the success of our country, from the 1830's through today. Railroads are relevant.
We need to copy the concept of OSIER-LAND and share it with all of our visitors and not just the children. This past summer I had a father tell his young son, “Look at the steam locomotive.” The only problem was that the locomotive he was looking at was our ALCO RS-3 not our 2-8-0.
To steal from an old Ford commercial, Our Job 1, as an industry needs to be education of what railroads did for America and what they do for us today! I for one will be incorporating these concepts into our website and printed material for the New Year.

I need help from Moms & Dads & Grandparents. Suggestions on what should be taken out and what should be added to this portion of the site will be greatly appreciated.

The goal is to get kids to smile and learn something at the same time. Also we want them to tell their parents they want to come and ride the C&TSRR.
