Some months back there was a thread about the plight of Frisco 4-8-4 #4501. It was apparently the victim of an abortive restoration attempt, and was sitting in an industrial park. The City of Tulsa apparently wanted to dispose of it, and there was some concern that it might be scrapped. What has happened to the old girl?

Wrong victim. You are thinking of Frisco #4500 which is in the Tulsa area.

What IS #4500's status? It has been reported that the Sunbelt group (responsible for the ill-fated restoration attempt) has folded.

The Tulsa city council was going to sell the 4500 to whom ever came up with the best offer; but then another local group didn't want to see it leave Tulsa. See this site for more info: www.cityoftulsa.org/resources/project4501.pdf

What is the status of this 2-6-2, long displayed at the state fairgrounds in Tulsa? I seem to recall the Sunbelt group planned to something with that engine also.
