City of New Orleans?

Sharp looking train on the Illinois Central in 1958. Probably could be recreated if there was a will to do so.

With the recent purchase by a member of an E8, I think the Monticello Railroad Museum is working on putting together a representative IC passenger train in appropriate colors. They have several impressive restored IC passenger cars already.

Confirming David Wilkins's post, the Monticello Railway Museum is attempting to assemble a "complete" IC train, similar to the one shown in the photo. Which, unless it is detouring, is not the "City of New Orleans" but more likely the "Green Diamond" or one of the other St. Louis - Chicago trains.

Hmmm. If the "City" i.d. could be adhered to, maybe Arlo could be persuaded to sing the Anthem at the christening.........
