Prairie Du Chein Railcars *PIC*

Was in Prairie Du Chein, WI for a short time this weekend, and had a chance to snap a couple of shots of the much discussed railroad equipment there. Unfortunately my old digital camera didn't perform so well in the cold, overcast weather.

A couple of notes about these cars -
They are deteriorating badly and need to be saved soon.
The owner has finally started parting with them, a couple were recently sold to private individuals and moved.

Which road were the passenger cars from?

I believe he got all the passenger cars from the Burlington Northern, and I think they are most of CB&Q heritage.

Some of the passenger cars were also of Milwaukee Road lineage. There used to be a bar located in several cars while they were parked a little further to the south along the river. It obviously went "belly-up" several years ago and the cars were relocated up towards the transloading facility where they presently reside. There was a Milwaukee Road baggage-dorm located to the south of the old depot site along with a string of former Milwaukee Road cabooses. I think there was a former NP or GN lightweight sleeper in there at one time also. It had been converted to bunk service and painted M-of-W boxcar red. Most of the stuff is in really rough shape.
