The Gulf Coast Chapter of the NHRS is hosting a meet and greet with the UP Steam Team while they are in Houston for the Super Bowl. check out the Gulf Coast site for date and time.The proceeds will go toward stabilization and moving the locomotive from Herman Park to the Museum grounds.
Eventually this locomotive,which has been undergoing a slow restoration by the Texas Railroad Preservation Association,will be returned to service.

This locomotive,unlike many big steamers,ALREADY has a place to run once it is rebuilt. No,the engine will not be kicked out after a year or two..no the locomotive does not have authority to run on a Class One...but she does have a place to run the way she should.
