Does anyone have a favorite barrier coating for wood/steel interface that they would care to recommend? For example, for new frame sections inside a railcar where oak will be in contact with steel.

Dear John,
There is a lot in common between ships and railroads, lots of steel in contact with wood out inthe weather. Here at San Francisco Maritime we use a bedding compound called Dolphinite. It's a horrable green color but it's great stuff. How are things going with your Bamberger 127?
Ted Miles

BRR 127 with its shiny exterior orange, yellow and black livery, patiently awaits the rebuild and minor fabrication of its 2nd truck, which is well underway.
