A Baldwin fan-friend of mine had me checking on the DT 6-6-20's, of which the only survivor 'appears' to be ex-MNS #21 at the Illinois Railroad Museum. Anybody know if there are any other survivors of the 45, or if the 21 is still in operating condition? The IRM website isn't real specific in mid-January...

Man, what a locomotive for 1948! 74 feet long, 2000hp in two motors, about 360,000 lbs, and a tiny 1500-gallon fuel tank!

AS far as I know MN&S #21 still is operational at IRM and occasionally gets out of the barn. The blue dragon is something to behold & hear.
