Oilburning Challenger pushing hard on a freight train in Utah, in August 1957. It would later acquire a six-digit number and be used for snow melting duties in the North Platte yard. Scrapping came near in the late 1960s, when a group of employees petitioned to have it towed to a local park.

Repainted in the two tone gray scheme it wore in early 1950s passenger service, with its original number.
