Slightly older than the 3203 in Portland, the 3206 is a standard Harriman model which had many cousins on the SP. Shown here on display in Spokane in 2001. I heard this group was ordered to move their equipment from the fairgrounds. Did they?

I noticed on that the tender has the famed UP shield on it. Did they ever apply the shield to the engines while in service or was this something that was done in post retirement?

It had it, as did many or most other UP engines, in service, in the early 20th century.

The shield on the tender in the photo appears to be the modern version- probably a decal normally applied to diesels, not the version it would have had in service.
