Progress report on CB&Q 4-6-4 4000, from the "Big Alice, the goon" thread below. Sounds like they got the asbestos off. Hope they are saving the jacketing, at least to use for patterns. These guys and their contractors are cutting out rusty metal and replacing it. They obviously understand that cosmetic restoration involves more than a few boy scouts with paint brushes. The "before" and "after" condition of #4000 is nothing short of miraculous. I hope there are plans to build a shelter over her. Where do I send my money?
