At Marquette, MI in 1942. I think this was the last one to leave Michigan recently. Where did it go?

LS&I #21 located at the Mid-West Locomotive & Machine Works shop located in North Lake, Wisconsin. It is scheduled to be the next project to come into the shop. Currently WP&YR #69 and a 2' Henschel are in the shop being rebuilt.

How did such nice block of serviceable steam locomotives survive long enough to be adopted and rebuilt in the modern world?
