I know this board is not aimed at model railroading, but I thought someone out there following this might be able to help me out. As a fan of Super Power steam such as the NKP 700's, PM 1200's and the C&O's Super Power Steam, I'm trying to locate any of the old Arbour Models HO kits, still in kit form, partially assembled, or completed, of their 2-8-4's, 2-10-4's or the Allegheny. These kits were last produced back in the mid 80's, I believe. The tooling, parts, etc. are now owned by Bowser, but they have no plans to put them back in production. Can anyone help me out? Thanks a lot and sorry for digressing from the primary of theme of this discussion board!
train@nls.net |

I seem to recall reading an old "Trade Topics" piece in Model Railroader when these models were available. I believe they tried to assemble and operate the 2-10-4 and were simply not able to make it function well. That's probably why Bowser, which makes good running locomotives, hasn't offered them for sale without first tooling up to make new running gear.
ryarger1@nycap.rr.com |
