I am going to be in Atlanta next month. Can anyone familiar with the Cyclorama give me advice about viewing, photographing the "Texas"? glueck@maine.edu |

The "Texas" is in what was originally the basement of the Cyclorama building, but is now the main entry level. Last time I was there you could see "Texas" from the entrance, but you have to buy a ticket to get in and view her up close. The locomotive is in the waiting area for viewing the Cyclorama painting. Lighting is not too bad, but could be better for photography. I did not need a flash when I took photos many years ago. It is not possible to get a full side shot or "roster shot" of the locomotive without visual obstructions, but you can get close on all sides and get tight shots from the front and rear on both sides. Good for detail shots. Good luck, and say "hi" to her from a former Atlanta resident. Stephen Syfrett Albany, GA ssyfrett@bellsouth.net |
