Being a good 'ole Southern boy, I probably shouldn't admit this. Last night I was watching a DVD I purchased at the Strasburg Railroad back in January. The title of it is "Pennsy Power - Volume 3". After putting up with some boring diesel scenes, the DVD finally got to the good stuff: Shop scenes of a T-1 being built and then a T-1 in the test plant. This stuff was really great. Scenes of a bull riveter in action, a throat sheet being hot formed in a 4 column press, wheel-less T-1's flying through the shop, boiler tubes being safe ended, and several other things. All you T-1 fans need to see this, especially those driving wheels spinning at around 300 rpm in the test plant.

Aw, at 300 RPM, they were just getting warmed up. Seriously, 6110 was run at 420 rpm (100 mph) three times on the test plant (test nos 1420, 1421 and 1448). Thanks for letting us know about the DVD. Gotta get a copy somewhere!!

Dave:

Looks like you can purchase it on-line (link below). I'm thinking I might buy myself a birthday present. :-)
