Among a whole bunch of loose papers that fluttered into the Maryland Rail Heritage Library recently:

Invoice from the Baltimore & Ohio RR,
Camden Station Ticket Agent-604,
South Howard & Camden Sts.,
Baltimore, MD 21201:

May 3 1969

To: Chesapeake Division of Railroad Enthusiasts, c/o [private individual/address]

The Apple Blossom Special--May 3 1969
Round Trip Balto MD - Winchester, VA

297 Adults at $7.00 Each 2079.00
34 Children (5-11yrs) at $3.50 Each 119.00

Total Due B&ORR 2198.00

Thank you for riding B&ORR

[rubberstamped "Paid 5-10-69 MGR" and handwritten "Thanks"

### end of invoice###

Now, what would be the insurance alone on such a trip today?

This sounds like the moral equivalent of a MARC excursion today using a MARC loco and perhaps 5-6 MARC cars (6-7 B&O 60-seaters for comfort, a concession car, etc.).

Anyone remember/know exactly what this excursion's consist was?

Post subject:  Probably RDCs

Most trips on B&O lines in that era were run with RDCs. National Capital Trolley Museum made several trips from Silver Spring to Wilmington & Western, and one or both regional NRHS grousp ran several trips to Harpers Ferry on the Old Main Line with RDCs in the early 1970s.
