In case you hadn't heard, March 13 and 14 are NRHS days at Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, PA. Any member showing his/her card gets a $1.00 discount on museum admission. Mitch Dakelman of the NRHS will feature films (Sat) from the library of the NRHS main office, and Larry Eastwood will have two slide shows(Sun), highlighting the Reading Co. and Amtrak. Several Chapters will have tables and displays set up in the park's theater and museum buildings. The Steamtown locomotive shop will be open "RailExpo style" with only caution tape guarding the machinery. Formal tours may take place, but a lot of work is scheduled for that day, also. Remember, your membership always gets a 10% discount at the Museum Shop, too.
March 13 is also the St Patrick's day paradein Scranton, so abide the traffic changes in the directions area of the NPS website, linked below.
