Winston Link's six albums are now available in a box set of five CDs. They were remastered from the original LP's with two exceptions: Christmas Eve in Rural Retreat (extended version on CD), and the mockingbird sequence (slightly modified and extended at the beginning). Got the set about two weeks ago in Roanoke. Compared to the original LPs, the sound is greatly improved (no more pops and clicks!!). Available from N&W Historical Society's Commissary www.nwhs.org and the O. Winston Link Museum gift shop www.linkmuseum.org I don't know if the museum does 'net orders at this point, but they definitely have the set. It's pricey, but worth the $$ to have these recordings in a better medium than vinyl IMO. |
