Looks like most of the Colorado & Wyoming was removed last summer, leaving behind a turntable at Segunda, Colorado. Anyone know its size and type? Have photos? C&W was long the property of Colorado Fuel & Iron Co., the main industry in Pueblo. The RR has had other operators in recent years, and apparently none proved successful. At one time in the late-1980s, there was at least one proposal to operate tourist trains over it, but none apparently came to fruition. http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,703118 ryarger@rypn.org |

The turntable is old and small, it used to serve a long gone roundhouse. From what I can gather the turntable is now on private property, so that is why it survived. As a side note, it was lastused in 2002 to turn an SD9 diesel. Hmm...never knew the turntable even existed..and I went through there early last summer, apparently just before the scrappers began their malevolent march.. There is still a C&W depot standing along the R-O-W, as a private residence, within which little townlet escapes me.. hi_plain@yahoo.com |
